In this community you can submit an idea, vote on existing ideas or add your comments.
If you would like to submit an idea, please type in the box below or click the submit button. You will be asked to add a title and choose the category your idea belongs to. You also have the option to add a tag to your idea. Tags are another way to identify your idea using key words you feel describe it best. They can help others find your idea when browsing or searching. Tags are displayed in the left navigation area under What we’re discussing.
If you would like to view ideas sorted by the categories, use the links on the left side of the screen under the heading Categories. To return to this page click the All Ideas link.

Some of our customers want to subscribe to a specific category, instead of receiving notifications for the whole site. Our categories are very specific and subscribing to the entire new idea feed would contain 80% irrelevant ideas to them.

Give users the ability to 'abstain' from voting on a particular idea but still show the idea as voted on.
With the vast number of ideas I try to not re-read them, but if there are some that I don't feel strongly about either way I won't vote. Then they still show the vote up or vote down buttons. If there was an option to abstain (think mark as read) that would help me manage Ideascale as a user.

It appears that only active ideas are counted. I assume the other stats include all posted content, so this seems inconsistent. Not a major ...more »

Not a major issue by any stretch. I think users might like to know how many suggested ideas have been completed so they can see how often their ideas are incorporated. =)

Make the Ideascale Widget customizable for the landing location and display of ideas on websites.
Enable admins to select different categories so widget code will be generated that will display and/or refer people to different categories specifically in a community that were selected to generate the code.

When an idea is submitted with custom fields data, that data comes into the idea detail page above the idea description. Since custom fields data is most often supplementary to the idea being submitted, it would make more sense that this info would be displayed BELOW the idea description. See image:

As the moderator, I uploaded a few hundred ideas from earlier lists. Now I am shown as the top contributor and unlikely to be displaced. I want the true contributors to be eleigible for this as an incentive, but now I can't. It would be helpful to be able to block individuals or all moderators from being ranked in the standings.

Why continue to allow votes for those ideas in progress or complete? It makes no sense.
It would make more sense to "simply" have a list of ideas in progress or complete without seeing the votes. This way a user also doesn't ask "why is this one in progress when it received only 2 votes as opposed to another one that hasn't been done yet that has 17 votes?".
So ... remove the ability to continue to vote on those in progress or already complete ... and don't even show the votes since that info is no longer relevant. The idea has already been "picked up".

It would be really nice if it was possible to upload a file when posting a comment on an existing idea. This feature is especially important for idea contests which require a visual representation of an idea or a comment.
Maybe attachments for comments are not so difficult to implement as attachments for ideas are already possible?
This would be a small but great improvement!

the ability to welcome people back ot the board. So i log in and a window pops up and says "welcome back Aaron, you haven't been here in x days, here is your achievement scores" and included is a summary reminder of my badges and my current score, and perhaps a view of my ranking.
Again, this is a great way to generate engagement through social competition.

How many people voted up
How many people voted down
Comments with user names by each comment
A "really nice to have" would be to have the ablility to see how each person that left a comment voted.

How about adding an opt in box for Admins only to change the Curse Filtering - Auto-Moderate to behave the same way as the default 7 words that are blocked do and/or provide a separate section for additional blocked words vs the Auto-Moderated words for moderators to approve.

As a moderator it appears I have no way to filter ideas based on their internal priority or owner. There are many use cases where I may just want to look at High priority items assigned to a specific owner, etc.
See screenshot below for how this leaves a gap in the filtering capability.
Also, I hope that if you add Custom Fields (or integrate IdeaScale with QuestionPro) someday that you will keep in mind that filtering is the key to narrowing down lists of ideas. For example, I may only want to see ideas that have a specific answer for a custom field (QuestionPro question).

With the revise idea functionality the Idea History should capture the number of votes a idea had at the time the idea was revised. This way, if an idea substantially changes you can no how many votes the "first" version of the idea had before it was changed, etc.

It is confusing to open an IdeaScale panel and see (0) next to categories that you know you entered ideas into (because status changed). I think it would be useful to customers to see two numbers or some other indicator to show the categories are not empty.
For example, the category could be followed by an Active and In Action number.
[Category] (Active) (In Action) or in example form: Reporting Tools (7) (1). This may not be the best way but something needs to show that there is content being acted upon in that category or people may not look there, or worse yet they will think their idea was deleted when in fact it may just be a change of status. Inexperienced users with the system will make this mistake frequently.
Also, over time the number of items acted upon in the In Action category will grow and reinforce the concept that the customer is being listened to.

Would like to have an additional review tab titled "Oldest First" to display in the oposite order from "Recent."
Why would we want to see only 25 ideas at once? How about a View All button at the bottom of the page?

So they could immediatelly see on what ideas others voted, what has been commented etc. etc.
My clients are currently a bit confused because they don't really know what to do when coming to the plattform. Seeing stuff that is currently discussed, commented, voted on etc. would help them to find their way around a lot better.

The weekly email I receive from this community is very ugly (i.e., it has little formatting and no, nice branding or look-and-feel).
It would be nice if I could customize the emails that get sent to my community so that they look more professional.
Also, I'd like to be able to add a introductory sentence or header to it so that my community knows what this is (especially for new members).
