Add some type of schedule/target date for implementation
7
Check Completed
Just general brainstorming here:

Internal Benefit
It would be interesting to have a moderator capability to put in a target date of implementation for an idea. Then a report could be ordered by target date.

External Benefit
As an optional feature, it would be neat to expose this "Roadmap" of the future to customers on a panel by panel basis. So it could be turned on or off, but seeing all of the ideas in some type of schedule view would be interesting for customers in some situations.

As a side note, what got me thinking about this is that I was wondering what types of features are coming down the line for IdeaScale and how it might impact our planning, etc.

I think this could be a great idea. I also think that there might be cases where the Target Date is private to the Moderators, and not exposed to the Customers...

In some scenarios, you wouldn't want to get put on the hook for not delivering something that had to be cut out of the planned release due to resource limitations...

But the field would still be very useful internally in that case.

So - I think the first implementation here will be :

a) A Custom Field of type "Date" - Customers can call the field "Target/Release" whatever date.

b) Obviously the ability to filter/or sort where IdeaReport will be ;) - users can then sort or filter by that custom field.

This can now be accomplished using custom fields. More info on this feature here:
